Men buying breast milk… Is it safe for donors?
When a mom is selling her breast milk she is typically expecting another parent to buy the breast milk for their own child. However, many moms are getting contacted by men who do not have children and wish to use the breastmilk for personal needs such as body builders or health digestive reasons.
The question if this is a safe practice for moms to get involved in is stemming from the other men who have ulterior motives with the breast milk that are more of a sexual or fantasy purpose. These men are causing an area for concern on safety for moms looking to sell their breast milk.
Women are simply interested in their breast milk sells being of a professional and nonsexual nature. The good news is that there are many dads who reach out to breast milk donors to set up arrangements for their child’s breast milk needs. These mens are just as professional as any of the moms who also are seeking breast milk for their little ones.
There are also men who truly are seeking breast milk for health reasons and have no ulterior motives. These men will agree to purchase breast milk from moms the same as any other breast milk recipient. I have notice they are usually always seeking less breast milk since they consume smaller amounts then a baby would consume. These men may not want to go through the costs of having breast milk shipped as it’s going to require overnight shipping which can be costly.
My suggestion is if those men are serious and you do not personally know the man or he is not someone your friends or family can vogue for then the safest method is to have someone else such as a husband meet the buyer in a safe public place to complete the sale. If any man is against this type of arrangement I would advise against meeting with him. There is no reason they have to meet the breast milk donor in person. There is also no reason they need to see a video of the mom pumping her breast milk or photos of her lactating. If they are concerned with their safety consuming the breast milk they can be provided lab documents, letter of reference from ob/gyn, etc… from breast milk donor the same as any recipient would receive.
The short answer to this question is Yes (As Long As), selling breast milk to men is safe as long as the donor follows the guidelines set forth in any breast milk transaction.
If you encounter someone who you feel unsafe with for any reason the best advice is to end communication and move on. It is just not worth it to risk falling for a scam or risk personal safety simply to sell breast milk regardless of how much money they offer.
